Butsuden
@The Butsuden (Buddha Hall), with its stone floor and double roof, copies the structure of Tendoji, where Dogen practiced in China.@The main altar contains statues of the Sanzon Butu (Buddhas of the Three Times): on the right Amida Butsu, the Buddha of the past; in the cnter, Shakyamuni Butsu, the Buddha of the present; and on the left, Miroku Bosatsu, the Buddha of the future.@The frieze of carvings concerns Buddhist teachings particularly important for priests in training. The tablet hung above the altar signifies dedicating oneself to all sentient beings.
